What we do
Friends of Tremanna and Braes charity came from over a decade of supporting young people within Falkirk, who are looked after away from home and supported in a residential house named Tremanna and, from 1 October 2023, young people moving on from Braes children's house in Falkirk (also known as Wallace Crescent).
Friends of Tremanna aim to raise funds to help all young people who live in or have lived in Tremanna and Braes to enjoy ongoing family connections with them.
Through creating opportunities to bring young people back to Tremanna and Braes, whether this be on holiday or special occasions, supporting young people through education and employment or simply to get a weekly shop, our aim is to take the “corporate” out of parent and do what we do for our own children when they leave home.

Supporting our young people
Making life easier
With our funds we've helped our young people with things like food, energy and phone costs. We've also been able to support them to gain greater freedom through things like learning to drive.
Family celebrations
As well as buying presents and bringing us all together for birthdays or Christmas, we've celebrated the success of our young people in getting into work or education.
Having fun
We've helped our young people and their children have fun through activities like going to the cinema, the zoo or concerts. We've also supported them to go on trips to London, camping or to take up new activities like fishing.
